Accompanied by a mediator, visit the Falaise Memorial : the only museum entirely dedicated to the fate of civilians during the Second World War. Discover the daily lives of families during the German Occupation: rationing, propaganda, anti-Semitism and acts of resistance punctuate the lives of the French. How did people live with the occupier, under the bombings, during the exodus? This visit will answer many questions that have remained unanswered for too long.

Departing from the Tourist Office, our guide will retrace with you the history of Falaise throughout the Second World War. Bombed from June 7, 1944, Falaise became a strategic objective for the Allies in August. The town also gave its name to the Falaise-Chambois Pocket, whose fighting marked the Liberation of Normandy. Even today, the town is home to many buildings from the Reconstruction. This visit, suitable for schools, allows you to explore a little-known aspect of the Second World War!

It is at the very location of the Montormel Memorial that the powerful German war machine deployed in Normandy finally collapsed between August 18 and 22, 1944. A testament to the efforts of four allied nations to defeat a common enemy, the museum offers you a striking immersion into the hell of the Battle of Normandy. Thanks to its modern museum space and the explanations of a guide, discover the entire Battle of the Falaise-Chambois Pocket on the very site of the fighting. An emotional and educational experience of rare significance!

Guided tour by coach* through the Falaise-Chambois pocket – 1 hours

Starting from the Montormel Memorial, this circuit will take you to the strategic sites of the Battle of the Falaise-Chambois Pocket, where the Allies surrounded the German armies after 72 days of intense fighting. Over about twenty kilometers, with the explanations of a guide, students will relive the final battles of the Battle of Normandy.
