In order to guarantee the continuity and quality of our service during the season, two seasonal workers are joining our team from this month of June: Clara will provide tourist information in our reception offices in Falaise and Pont-d'Ouilly. As for Margot, she will welcome you during your visit to the Falaise Memorial.
Clara
Clara, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
I am 20 years old, live in Villers-Canivet and am an English LLCER student at the University of Caen. I chose this major because I have always loved English and I like discovering new cultures.
What was your motivation for applying as a seasonal worker at thethe Tourist Office ?
I decided to apply to the Tourist Office because I wanted to be able to use my English skills and be in contact with people. In addition, the idea of being able to help visitors discover my hometown, to which I am attached, appealed to me.
You joined the team a few days ago, do you already have an anecdote about your work to tell us or a favorite?
Among the many visitors I have already met, a German couple particularly struck me with their humor and good humor. Initially there for some information, they ended up sharing anecdotes and telling us about their love for France and more particularly for Normandy. They joked about the fact that they prefer to come to France because, according to them, the Germans are always in a bad mood whereas here, we are very welcoming. Given that the French are known to be grumpy, this information made me laugh (the couple did not agree at all with this cliché!).
Margot
Margot, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
I am 22 years old. I come from Bretteville-sur-Laize, I am currently doing a research Master's degree in Contemporary History. I wanted to follow this path because from class 6nd, my history teacher introduced me to the construction of monuments with sugar cubes (yes yes!). I have since participated in the National Resistance and Deportation Competition; in the Moot Court Competition; and today I am part of the Foundation for the memory of the deportation.
What was your motivation for applying as a seasonal worker to Falaise Memorial ?
I wanted to work in an environment and an environment that corresponds to my studies and what I want to do later. In addition, the location of the Memorial is a pleasant place.

This June 6, I met a group who were doing a historical reenactment. Everyone wore period clothing. I complimented them on their outfit, so they gave me a brochure and invited me to come and see what they were doing up close.
